William H. “Bill” Barfield

Bill is a Managing Partner of Litigation for Porter Law Firm focusing on construction defects and commercial litigation. Over the past twenty years, he has successfully represented clients in various legal matters, including construction defects, toxic tort, product liability, personal injury, civil liability, eminent domain and condemnation, medical malpractice, and intellectual property disputes.

As a seasoned trial attorney, Bill is board-certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and boasts an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell. He earned his BBA and MBA from Texas Tech University, JD from South Texas College of Law, and dual LLM degrees in Energy and Intellectual Property from the University of Houston Law Center.

Bill’s outstanding legal acumen has garnered recognition from Texas Monthly and Houstonia magazines, naming him among the top lawyers in Texas in 2013. He has also routinely been honored as a Texas “Super Lawyer” by Thomson Reuters (2020-2024) and included in the BL Rankings’ Best Lawyers In America publication (2013).

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bill enjoys spending time with his wife, Julie, daughter, Grace, and their Goldendoodle, Louie.
